Permaculture Design

Permaculture is a design philosophy inspired by the forest with the goals of supporting people, the planet, and community. Unlike conventional high-maintenance landscaping, permaculture aims to create a landscape that needs less upkeep over time.

Goals for a permaculture landscape may include:

  • a low maintenance yard
  • growing food
  • creating comfortable outdoor spaces
  • managing water to prevent flooding and increase drought resistance

Right now, I’m taking on a limited number of small-scale projects while growing my permaculture practice. Each project is unique — we’ll start with a conversation about your goals, space, and needs, and build from there.

I work with small spaces, urban yards, and herb gardens — helping you design a landscape that supports biodiversity, nourishes you, and feels good to be in. My specialty is integrating medicinal herbs into functional, beautiful designs that fit your lifestyle and local ecosystem.

I got my Permaculture Design Certificate in 2024 and designed my own backyard for my class project. It is an urban yard with limited space, so I wanted to maximize the functionality. Instead of aiming for a high yield, I wanted one of everything, so I could see what was in season.

You might be dreaming of:

  • pollinator-friendly yard full of native and medicinal plants

  • kitchen garden that regenerates soil and feeds your household

  • healing garden designed for relaxation, herbal teas, and well-being

If you’re ready to make your space more alive, resilient, and restorative — I’d love to help.
Tell me a bit about your project, and we’ll start a conversation about what’s possible.
